Happy Halloween and we have a winner!

Hello!
Happy Halloween to you all, whether you are celebrating or not.

This is the first year I have been creating for Halloween.

Remember these? Wanda sent them in the Sweet and Sinister swap.

I painted them black and added a few things. Like the crow (hard to see) and the banners. And as always I still could have been busy, but I call it a day. Next year there will be a cat too and perhaps a witch.




Work in progress, but this little fellow will definitely not celebrating Halloween this night.


The gourds and in the back ground the pumpkins. I'm not sure if I still have time to cut them before tonight as I'm already behind schedule now.

I can make soup for quite a few days. If it doesn't freeze more severe at night.

This is my 'masterpiece' this Halloween. Very hard to take a good photo as the glass is bulging. This is an antique frame which I painted. Bought it for 3 euro! I collaged it and filled with a raven (Monsieur le Corbeau in french) and some other spooky things.

I shouldn't have polished that glass too well.

As Halloween isn't celebrated here we can eat our own treats, not bad!

Detail: My husband gave these candelabras as a present the first Christmas in this town, 14 years ago. I still am fond of them. Here they are masked to celebrate a proper Halloween. It suits them!


Ohh and before I go, I have a winner to announce; Rini from Catharina's love guessed the most; 89 meters, that's about 93 yards. I was already at 80 yards and I still had to measure these, I just measured up to 89 meters and I still don't know what the total is! Thanks for participating.
Rini if you email me your addy you'll receive an appropriate price. As I forgot to teach a dutch word last time we'll do two this time

It's dark here and hard to take photo's like somebody is messing with my camera...

Was that? Did you see...? I think that was a ghost that entered the house;
Quickly...run to the trick and treat table to save the treats!

Dames, voor de laatste keer dit jaar val ik jullie nog lastig met Halloween. Ik heb dit jaar voor het eerst wat dingen geknutseld voor deze feestdag, het meeste is opgestuurd, maar ik heb voor onszelf ook nog wat gemaakt.
De huisjes van Wanda en nog wat zaken (natuurlijk ben ik nog niet klaar) heb ik nog maar eventjes op de foto gezet. Ik ben best trots op mijn raaf in de bolle lijst en op mijn kandelaars, die ik voor de gelegenheid gemaskerd heb. Ik kreeg die 14 jaar geleden cadeau van hubby en ze passen eigenlijk bij alle feesten en partijen.
O ja en dan de prijsvraag. Jullie kennen me slecht! Ik had al in de 80 meter afgemeten zonder dat ik het roze kant en het blauw zijden lint gemeten had. Vergeet vooral niet even op te letten hoeveel meter en wel niet op zo'n rol kan zitten! Rini van Catharina's love is de winnaar omdat zij het grootste aantal meters geraden heeft; 89 meter en er dus het dichtst bij zat. Rini als je me mailt stuur ik een toepasselijk prijsje naar je op.

Halloween flight night swap!

Today the Halloween flight night swap from Debra 'Hop Hop Jingle Boo' arrived! Debra was the host of this swap which had to contain an atc (artist trading card), a paper doll and an owl of your chosen medium. This was the loot! You can click on the picture to have it magnified. Inside the Halloween basket on the left is a bag full of Halloween candy! Besides the paper doll, the owl and the atc there were so much Halloween prints and other Halloween goodies amongst others a vintage Halloween bag right under. Here are the highlights:

And this is her owl, one of Debra's fav animals. This glittery piece is a brooch.

Debra has already made a lovely post with the items she received from me. Thank you! And thank you very much for inspiration as I never made an atc nor a paper doll before and that was fun to do. I didn't know that an atc was sooo small. I wanted to draw something myself and do something a little unexpected. So I made this vintage inspired owl, that can hide his wings in this card. A little spider hanging on the card enhances the spooky feeling.

This was my paper doll. A copy of the photo of the little girl that inspired me, was sent to Debra with a message, that this girl was hiding a secret.

That's why she can easily take of her hat!

And this was my owl!

It's almost midnight...I will see who of you guessed right...how many meters, miles or whatever metrage of ribbons and lace I bought last weekend.

Dames, zoals ik jullie al eerder vertelde deed ik mee aan de Halloween flight night swap georganiseerd door Debra van Hop hop jingle boo, die tevens mijn partner was. Wat zij mij stuurde staat op de bovenste foto's. De swap moest een atc (een artist trading card) een papieren pop die moest kunnen bewegen en een 'uil' van een materiaal naar eigen keuze, dus dat kon geschilderd, geborduurd geplakt of genoemmaaropt zijn, bevatten. Debra had mijn spulletjes al eerder ontvangen en er al een post aangewijd, maar ik kan het niet laten om mijn werkstukken hier nog eens te laten zien. Ik had nog nooit een atc gemaakt, wat is zoiets klein, ongeveer zo groot als een gewone speelkaart. Ik heb zelf een uil getekend en ik wil altijd dat er iets onverwachts in zit, dus dit keer bewegende vleugels die in de kaart kunnen verdwijnen. Geïnspireerd door een oude foto maakte ik een papieren pop aangekleed in oud kant. Zij draagt een geheim bij zich in haar 'corset'. Mijn uil is een wat de amerikanen noemen 'shadowbox' mmm dat klinkt ook wel beter dan een deksel (van een oud stempelspel van de kids, want dat is het eigenlijk). De boom heb ik getekend en verder heb ik veel uit mijn oude boeken gescheurd. En natuurlijk mijn oude typemachine gebruikt.

Het is nu bijna middernacht, tijd om mijn voorraadje kant en band te gaan meten en uit te vinden wie van jullie er het dichtst bij zat. Raden mag nog tot 12 uur dus. Jullie horen snel weer van me, groetjes
