Having a brocante weekend!

Last weekend I was at my cousins' and we went to three brocante markets. We had so much fun and we bought an awful lot. I even have bought much more than pictured here, but these are mainly presents, so...
That's a pity, no? That's why I have something else; a little contest. You will find it at the end of this blog post.

To start: every thing on this table. Yep there was a farmers' market too. So I bought the pumpkin and the basket with violets as well (and a very, very big purple chrysanthemum) . The white and blue jugs, bowl and pots are enamel ware. Not immaculate (far from that), but they will look great on my rack or in the garden. Especially the jugs remind me of France, though they have been bought in Belgium. In fact all flea markets in Belgium seems to be more French to me than any flea market in France!

Originally these jugs were sold as parts of washing sets. It's perfect and signed and priced at 2 euros!

Am I a genuine button floozy or not? I do hope there are a few button beauties in that jar.

Close up of the mother of pearl buttons, other buttons and wooden spools, all filled with white or black thread.

Two little vintage babies, one is a German Ary doll. Both lying on a 50-ties plate. I used to collect this kind of service. It's Fris, a dutch brand. I have sold a lot of it, but I still cannot resist to buy it when it's cheap. I paid 10 cents for this little plate about 5".

Some vintage mercury glass Christmas decorations. At Barbara's I found an ornaments calculator. I need about 700 (vintage) Christmas ornaments, so I can keep buying them for a while.

Vintage Easter decorations, these are German and hollow, meant to be filled with candy.

I bougth three wooden boxes. And I don't know how many baubles and a few old watches, keys, bits and bobs.

Ephimera lot: old photo's, childrens books, a french cooking book and a book about french queens, both beginning 20th century. At home I discovered  a lot of drawings of French queens in the book, except for the Marie Antoinette drawing, she has been torn out :-(

I was sooooo happy to find these; all vintage lace and silk ribbons.
Here is my little contest:
Guess how many meters or yards I have bought. To help you there are 15 different kinds shown here, and I have at least a meter of every kind, in fact much more. Write your guess number in yards or meters in your comments and you will make a chance to win a little ribbon package. The winner will be the one who is closest to the actual total. The contest ends October 27th 24.00 hrs CET.
This is not my October give away but just a little game in between.

Do you want to know what this girl is hiding behind her back?
Find out at Hop Hop Jingle Boo. I have made this paper doll and a couple of other things for Debra as a part of the Halloween Flight Night Swap.

Thanks for visiting me, don't forget to guess how much metres or yards of vintage ribbons I bought last weekend, good luck! Hugs, LiLi.

PS: this posts' dutch word is vlooienmarkt=flea market.
Vlo=flea-->vlooien=fleas
markt=market, yes there is another easy word!

and you see we Dutch tend to invent new words, not using two existing words for one meaning, but make one word with another meaning of two already existing words. Confused? Just stay tuned and you will speak and think like we Dutch in no time.
