Woonbeurs Amsterdam 2010

The Woonbeurs (interior decorating fair) started today and I was there. Sharing some photos with you:

Vandaag begon de Woonbeurs en ik was erbij. Ik heb wat fotootjes gemaakt:

I think this hot spot, the craft corner at the 'VT Wonen huis', with the French post office table, is my absolute favorite spot. I would love to have such a table, but they are so expensive. Look at the patchwork rug!

Mijn favoriete plek was de knutselhoek in het VT Wonen huis, met de franse postsorteertafel, zo jammer dat die dingen onbetaalbaar zijn. Dat patchwork tapijt vond ik ook heel grappig, lekker kleurig. 

Another highlight in the VT Wonen house is this tapestry/bag made out of old jeans. I would love that in a boys room, but my boy prefers to decorate his own room. I don't blame him for that! 

Dit wandkleed vol zakken van oude jeans vond ik ook een hele goeie, leuk voor op de jongenskamer, maar jammer dat mijn jongen een geheel eigen en totaal andere smaak heeft. 

You know that I love suitcases and trunks, well they do at the '101 house' too! 

Ik ben dol op koffers en kisten, zo te zien zijn ze dat bij het 101 huis ook. 

These vintage boxes decorated with fabrics are tdf!

Deze oude met stof bekleedde doosjes wil ik zo mee naar huis nemen. 

Yellow is definitely back. 

Hanging plates on the wall is so 2010.

Geel lijkt terug van weg geweest.  

En borden aan de wand is zo 2010. 

They think so too at Ariadne (interior decorating magazine). 

Dat vinden ze ook in het Ariadne huis^.

And if you don't have collected enough plates already you can buy this wall paper by Studio Ditte. 

Here you see 2 trends in one: the birdhouse. 

Als je nog niet genoeg borden verzameld hebt om aan de wand te hangen dan kun je natuurlijk altijd terug vallen op het behang van Studio Ditte. Hier zie je 2 trends in 1, de borden in vogelhuis vorm geplakt. 

And of course they have bird house wallpaper too! (also: thrift wood, toy cars and buttons). 

Ze hebben natuurlijk ook vogelhuis behang , maar dat is dan niet in 'bordvorm' geplakt ;-). 

Trouwens ook sloophout behang, knopen en speelgoedauto behang.

There was a huge bird house at the 'outside' pavilion. 

In het buitenpaviljoen was een enorm vogelhuis van sloophout. 

Of course I saw some hanging plates and wallpaper over there too! 

Daar natuurlijk ook weer wat bordjes tegen aan en wat behang. 

This wallpaper is here to stay, this^ one is very Fête et Fleurs. 

Behang blijft voorlopig. Dit^ is zo Fête et Fleurs. 

Not only green recycling is a trend, real green is too.

Here a table and chairs filled with sedum and moss and walls filled with plants. 

Groen (recycling) is een trend, maar echt groen is dat ook. 

Hierboven een tafel en stoelen bekleed met sedum en mos temidden van groene wanden. 

Though there were also fake trees, made out of card board by Ferry Staverman. 

I guess no one ever throws another card board box away when you've seen this: 

Maar er waren ook nepbomen, hier van karton, gemaakt door Ferry Staverman.

Je zou toch nooit meer een kartonnen doos gewoon weggooien als je dit kunstwerk ziet dat geheel van karton gemaakt is door Couzijn van Leeuwen. 

And staples and tape of course. 

Oké ook van plakband en nietjes. 

All time favorite Sjakies was at the Woonbeurs too. 

Eén van de leukste winkels van Nederland 'Sjakies' was er ook. 

Their rugs are really something else. 

Ik vind hun kelims weer eens wat anders. 

I fell in love with these affordable Portuguese tiles.

Ik werd op slag verliefd op deze betaalbare Portugese tegels. 

I thought the Ariadne house^ was a tad disappointing. 

Whites and blues only and not very much inspiring details. 

Eerlijk gezegd vond ik het Ariadne huis^ een beetje teleurstellend;

Alles in blauw en wit en weinig verrassende details. 

 I was very happy to see that Weijntjes still put these door knockers on the market. You can have them too if you like!

It was a fun day at the Woonbeurs. I do hope that you enjoyed it too,

Ik was heel blij te zien dat de ouderwetse deurkloppers gewoon nog door de firma Weijntjes op de markt worden gebracht. Iedereen kan dus zo'n mooie deurklopper kopen.

Amazing finds

As I told you I'm way behind in showing and telling you. The flea market season is almost closing, so let's start with what might be the best finds of the season: 

Ik riep het al: ik loop flink achter, dus ik schrijf nog maar eens een postje. Het vlooienmarkt seizoen loopt op zijn einde, laat ik maar eens beginnen met de beste aanwinsten uit het seizoen:

Well, well what is this? To tell you the truth, the spools are my finds, they are part of a larger group:

Ja, ja, je ziet het goed; houten klosjes, die maakten deel uit van een grotere groep:

The most of them are the larger spools. There are two darning instruments, a ball and an egg too and a few old red spools. I love the old colors, but they are not the best find of the season, their colors are the reason why I let them accompany the best finds; the amazing ribbon and the silk moiré box:

Een heel koopje in een zak, met ook nog 2 maas eieren, of eigenlijk 1 stop-ei en een maasbal, maar dat was niet de beste vondst van het seizoen. Wel vind ik vooral de donkerrode klossen zo mooi. Tegenwoordig zie je veel kleurloze oude spulletjes, wit en zwart, maar ik denk dat ik die oude kleuren nog mooier vind. Daarom mogen de oud rode klossen bij de beste vondsten van het seizoen liggen; het prachtige band en het mooie moiré zijden doosje

This tulle ribbon embroidered with silk flowers is the most precious ribbon I have ever seen. I've found the spools, but my bff Mrs. H. has found the ribbon and she gave it to me! We all love the tattered white and blacks, but I think I love these old colors even more!  

Dit tulen band dat geborduurd is met zijden bloemen is misschien wel het mooiste band dat ik ooit gezien heb. Ik vond de klosjes, maar mijn bff Mrs. H. vond het band en ze gaf het aan mij. 

Look at those details, look at those colors...

I'm such a lucky person...thanks a million Mrs. H! 

Nog even wat details. Ik ben er zo gelukkig mee...tien miljoen keer bedankt Mrs. H! 

I got 2 meters (about 2 yards) of this terrific ribbon, of course I haven't used anything of it yet, but I'm planning to do so; first on a gorgeous bag. What do you think? It would be gorgeous around a little black jacket too. Mmm I keep on dreaming, and the dream of old colors isn't over yet: 

Ik heb hier ongeveer 2 meter van en natuurlijk heb ik er nog geen millimeter van gebruikt, maar dat ben ik wel van plan. Als eerste denk ik het te gebruiken om een tas mee op te pimpen. Wat zou jij ermee doen? Het zou ook prachtig zijn voor een hoed, of langs een mooi zwart jasje...ik droom nog even door, want het dromen over oude kleuren is nog niet over....

Als je het doosje opent komt er een prachtig verkleurde naaiset te voorschijn. Ik vind de kleuren van het garen helemaal geweldig, ze verouderen prachtig, net als Mrs. H. ;-) al moet ik zeggen dat deze grap in het Engels heel wat charmanter klinkt. 

Vergeten jullie niet je HIER op te geven voor de verloting van de gratis woonbeurs kaarten?
