Ik had het me eigenlijk niet goed gerealiseerd, maar men rekent op meerdere deelnamen aan Silver Sunday, dat georganiseerd wordt door Beth van Gypsy Fish Journal. Nou ja vooruit maar, nog een zilverpost, laten we nog maar eens een kastje opentrekken:

In de slaapkamer gaan we dit keer weer eens achter de deurtjes kijken:
Hier nog een verzameling van mijn moeder: de lodderijnflesjes. Lodderijn is een verbastering van l'eau de la Reine, Frans voor koninginnewater, een geurwater, te vergelijken met Eau de Cologne.
Behind this door is another of my mothers' collections; the 'lodderijnflesjes', as they are called in Dutch. Lodderijn comes from the French: L'eau de la Reine, Queens' water, a kind of scented water, like eau de Cologne. 'Fles'=bottle the 'je' is there to make clear that the bottle is small and the 's' is for making a plural.
De flesjes werden in de zwart fluwelen tas aan de rok gedragen, bij de zakdoek en zo wat andere spulletjes die een meisje graag bij de hand heeft. Het is typisch iets uit de streekdracht.
The bottles are made of glass or crystal and the corks are silver.
These bottles were kept in womens purses, you know the black velvet ones with the silver part to open and close the purse.
De flesjes gaan allemaal zo^ open, achter de zilveren stop hoort dan nog een stopje, in dit geval van kristal, dat de boel goed afsluit. Vaak ontbreekt dat tweede piepkleine stopje.
All bottles open like this. Behind the silver cork, which doesn't close tight, quite obvious, there should be another plug, made out of crystal, as in this^ example. Often those very small plugs are missing.
Deze heeft een ministopje van kurk met zilver afgewerkt. Van dit flesje is het scharniertje gebroken vandaar dat de zilveren dop niet meer blijft hangen.
or made out of cork, like this^ example, here the hinge of the silver cork has broken, that is why it opens this way, it falls of.
Dit vind ik de mooiste, ik vind de vorm zo mooi.
This^ is my favorite. I like this shape most.
En deze van Makkums aardewerk vind ik de lelijkste. In de kast staat hij 'onzichtbaar', maar omdat hij ook een zilveren dop heeft vind ik dat hij vandaag ook recht heeft op zijn 15 minuten beroemdheid.
This^ one, made of 'Makkum' earthenware, is my least favorite. I have in it that same cupboard but not as a part of the collection. Makkum earthenware is like 'Delft' earthenware. Delft is most of the times blue on white, Makkum has many colors on white. It has a silver cork too, so today this small bottle can have its' 15 minutes of fame too.
Het leuke vind ik de aandacht voor details, dit stopje is gegraveerd met een roosje en kleine blaadjes. Het licht is waardeloos vandaag dus je zult wellicht even moeten turen.
The light is terrible today, but still I want to try to show you some detail, here is a small rose engraved on the cork.
Deze dopjes zijn elk voorzien van een vogeltje, misschien moet je even de foto aanklikken om het beter te zien, of een groter computerscherm kopen, ;-)
And here are two small birds. I know the photo is dark, you might have to click the photo or buy a large screen hehehe!
